BRAVE NEW WORLD - ALDOUS HUXLEY
"Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley is a dystopian novel set in a future society that values technological advancement and efficiency over individuality and human emotion. The World State, the novel's society, achieves stability through the use of technology, conditioning, and a rigid caste system. Human beings are artificially created and conditioned for their roles in society, eliminating personal freedom and individuality.
The story follows Bernard Marx, who feels out of place due to his unorthodox thinking and dissatisfaction with the conformist society. He befriends John, a "savage" raised outside the World State, who experiences culture shock upon entering the technologically advanced society. John's horror at the lack of true humanity and emotion in the World State leads to tragic consequences.
The novel explores themes of control, freedom, technology, and the loss of individuality, questioning the cost of a perfectly stable society.
